The Glenross is a beautifully furnished, comfortable and homely guest house situated near to the seafront promenade and offering great home cooking, a licensed bar and free car parking.

Offering Visit Britain 4-star rated guest house accommodation, owned and run by Andrew and Janet Caunter, you will be made very welcome amid a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with individually furnished and well-equipped en suite accommodation. Wonderful home cooking is served for both breakfast and dinner. There is a fully licensed bar and also a comfy guest lounge. Your stay will be complemented by the highly rated Silver Award for ‘extra care and consideration shown to all valued guests’.

The Glenross is entirely non-smoking and stays must be of 2 nights or more. Sorry, but single sex groups are not accepted. Guests are reminded that they are to be considerate to other guests with regards to noise, particularly between 23:00 and 08:00.

Included in the rates is your freshly prepared breakfast. Each morning you can order whatever you wish from the full English breakfast menu, as well as the breakfast bar which offers fruit, cereals and juices.

Evening 3-course dinners are prepared by the owners using a wide range of lovely locally sourced ingredients. The cooking at the Glenross is renowned for being hearty, varied and extremely good value, which is perhaps why the majority of guests return time and time again. A discount is offered to guests who dine with us every night of their stay.

The Glenross is situated in a prime holiday area, close to the Riveria Conference Centre, railway station and a 10-minute walk from the seafront promenade. A 15-minute walk will take you to Castle Circus at the top of town for shopping opportunities, whilst the harbour can be reached with a 25-minute walk. The distance is well worth the fact that you can enjoy all the evening entertainments and dining possibilities before returning for a good night's rest away from the noise of the town centre.

The Glenross is situated with other lovely Victorian villa establishments and offers a great location to go off and catch a bus or ferry to Brixham; take walk to Cockington; or a drive off to Dartmouth, Dartmoor or perhaps Salcombe.

By Car:
- Approach Newton Abbot via the M5 and A380.
- Continue on the A380 towards Torquay, until you approach a 'y' junction, with the Halfords store on your right hand side.
- At this point, bear right onto Avenue Road, following signs for the seafront.
- At the traffic lights, go straight on and carefully turn left into the Glenross car park, which is the 2nd property after the lights.

Car Parking:
The car park can accommodate the majority of guests' cars. However, on occasions there may be a need for guests to park on Avenue Road, where the hotel is situated.

Full payment will be required upon arrival. You will be charged according to the cancellation policy for non arrival.

Insurance for long stay breaks and holidays is always advisable. Terms and conditions are available upon request.

Only bookings of 2 rooms (4 people) for mixed sex groups accepted from the same party unless we are contacted first to discuss specifics. We will cancel your booking if one is made.

Free public parking is possible on-site, however, it may sometimes be necessary for guests to park on the road.
