The Knavesmire Manor Hotel is a comfortable family run hotel, with a heated tropical indoor swimming pool.

The hotel, once the home of the Rowntree family, is a fine Georgian House built in 1833 and commands uninterrupted views across York Racecourse.

The accommodation offers a choice of bright south facing motel-style garden rooms at ground floor level or the more traditional rooms in the main building, where each retains its own character.

Room information

Our modern motel style garden rooms are located on the outside of the main hotel building. Light and airy, these rooms are contemporary in style and are all at ground floor level, with direct access to the garden and car park. All our garden rooms have en suite shower.

The bedrooms located in the main hotel building over 3 floors are each unique and individual in character. They are more traditional in style and offer en suite bath with shower over. Some enjoy glorious views over the Knavesmire.

Area information

The Knavesmire Manor Hotel is situated in a prime location on Tadcaster Road, approximately 15 minutes walk from the city centre. This fine Georgian house retains many of its original features and offers splendid views across the famous Knavesmire race course.

Tourists information

Approach York on the A64 from Leeds, the M1 or the A1(M). Turn on to the A1036 signposted for York city centre. The Knavesmire is on the left overlooking the famous York racecourse.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 5.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.
