Built in 1866, the Barceló Imperial Hotel is a Mediterranean-style resort, perched on a cliff top overlooking Torbay.

With breathtaking views of the English Riviera, you can watch the yachts sail by and the sun set on this stunning stretch of coastline. Steeped in history, the hotel has entertained a host of notable guests including Emperor Napoleon III, the Queen of Holland and King Edward VII. The hotel continues the tradition of excellence in every aspect with its beautiful marble floors, superb dining and impeccable service.

There is an outside car park and garage (must be pre-booked), both available on a 1st come basis at an additional cost. The hotel offers the excellent health facilities listed below as well as a gym, sunbeds, squash courts and a pool table. Please note that the swimming pool is used for swimming lessons. Please check with the hotel for times. Guests can still use the pool at these times.

Our award winning Regatta Restaurant offers panoramic sea views of Torbay, and offers superb cuisine and fine wines. Our tq1 Brasserie is less formal, and offers exciting, innovative and tasty dishes.

Tourists information

From the M5:
- Exit at junction 31 onto the A38 and follow signs for Torquay.
- Exit for the A380 and follow this road into Torquay.
- Once on the seafront road, head left, keeping the sea and then the harbour on your right-hand side.
- The hotel is just up the hill from the harbour on the right-hand side of the road.

Remarks

Car parking is available in the upper level car park or in the garage.

The hotel is now fully non-smoking.

Dress codes in restaurant:

Jeans, trainers or t-shirts are not allowed. However, during the summer, jeans and polo shirts are allowed.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults stay free of charge for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
