This luxury, detached Victorian villa with beautiful private gardens, is set in a peaceful part of Torquay, a short walk from Torquay's conference centre and Abbey Sands beach and harbour.

The Hotel has undergone a substantial transformation over the past few months and has a complete new look for 2007. In March 2006 the Carlton Court Hotel was one of the first in Torbay to be given the prestigious silver award under the new harmonised common standard of quality assessment. This hotel has been awarded stars under the heading 'hotel accommodation'. An additional silver award has been given for exceptional standards of quality in all areas of accommodation, hospitality, facilities and service. The standards of the silver award from January 06 have been enhanced and much more difficult to achieve, which is why we are so proud of our award.

All beds in the hotel are extra length (6ft 6') and a minimum standard of king-size.
Nearby are the Torquay Riviera Conference and Sports Centre, with indoor swimming pools wave machine and water chutes; and Torre Abbey with its beautiful gardens, including pitch and putt, tennis and bowls. The beautiful thatched village of Cockington is only a mile from the hotel, with its attractive lakes and gardens.

Torquay has something for everyone: a walk along the promenade, the beach, marina and harbour, theatres, cinemas, quality nightclubs and access to many of the South West's major attractions.

Breakfast in the restaurant includes a self-service buffet with fruit juice, fruit, yogurts and cereals, a full traditional breakfast, toast, tea or coffee. Please note that we do not offer evening meals or full board facilities. Please also note that the bar is temporarily unavailable. Guests are at liberty to bring their own drinks for consumption in their bedroom only.

Please note that The Carlton Court Hotel is entirely non-smoking, does not cater for children or pets.

Hotel information

Accommodation is normally available by 13.00. Early arrivals may use facilities and leave luggage with reception and their car in the car park.

Rooms are to be vacated by 10:30. Luggage may be left with reception.

Breakfast is served from 08.30 to 09.30 (earlier if requested the night before).

Area information

The Calton Court has just joined ‘Out to Play Golf’ and offers half price green fees when you stay. Courses include Dainton Park Golf Course (6 miles away), Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, Cullompton and Dinnanton to name a few.

Tourists information

From the A3022 Newton Road. Turn right into Avenue Road at the traffic light with Halfords and Torre station on the right. Take first left into Cleveland Road. Continue along Cleveland Road, cross Tor Park Road and you will find the Carlton Court Hotel 250 metres up on the right.

Remarks

Bookings must be confirmed by a credit or debit card with all relevant information. Money will not be debited until the account becomes payable. We simply obtain an authorisation from the card provider. For cheque or cash payments, please send a 25% deposit to confirm the booking. Deposits are normally non-refundable.

Contact us immediately if you have to cancel. Your cancellation is effective from the date we receive notification in writing. If we are able to re-let the room, a pro-rata refund will apply.

Accounts are payable in full the night before departure. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Maestro, Solo, American Express and Switch. If whole payment is to be by cheque it must be with a cheque guarantee card or be sent in advance in time to clear before arrival. (minimum of 4 working days)

We reserve the right to refuse anyone who in our opinion, is not suitable. In such cases all charges will be refunded in full. We also have the right to discontinue to accommodate any person who, in our opinion, behaves unreasonably, damages property, is a danger to or significant annoyance to others. In this event no refund will be due. We do not take single sex parties regardless of how many in the group. Any groups booking on the internet will be turned away at the door with no refund due. (No exceptions).

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 10 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 25.00 will be charged.
If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 50.00 will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children cannot be accommodated at the hotel.
Baby cots are not available.
Extra beds are not available.
There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate.

Parking: Free Public parking is possible on site.

Pets: Pets are not allowed.
