Ideally located just 5 minutes walk away from Edinburgh Waverly train station, this city centre guest house aims to offer clean, comfortable and affordable rooms in a central location.

Local attractions include Omni leisure and entertainment centre, Calton Hill, the City Art Centre, Edinburgh Playhouse theatre and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The guest house consists of 2 properties – Lantern House which is the main reception point, and Windsor House which is situated just 20 metres down the road. You can book to stay in either property, and whichever one you choose you can relax in the knowledge that all rooms are en suite and have their own TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

We are centrally located in a quiet street but within minutes of the Playhouse Theatre and the Omnicenter. There are dozens of Chinese, Italian, Indian and Scottish restaurants within a 100 meter radius.

This is the ideal place for you to stay when visiting Edinburgh for Shopping, rugby games, Edinburgh Castle, sightseeing, theatre or for the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Room information

All of the rooms are en suite and are equipped with a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

The double room contains a double bed. We have 2 double rooms in the Lantern House and one in our sister guest house, Windsor House. The twin room contains 2 single beds; one is located in Lantern House, and one in Windsor House. The triple room contains a double bed and a single bed. We have one triple room in the Lantern House and one in Windsor House.

Area information

We do not offer breakfast facilities, however within the immediate surroundings there are many breakfast places among others the famous Valvona & Crolla and the Playfair in the Omnicenter.

Tourists information

By Train:
- Edinburgh Waverley railway station is 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from Lantern House.

By Bus (from Princes Street):
- If you take the number 26, 4 or 44 bus get off at Leopold Place and take the 1st street on the left (Windsor Street).
- If you take the number 7, 10, 22, or 25 bus get off at Elm Row, cross the road, turn onto Leopold Road and take the 1st street on the left (Windsor Street).

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.
