The hotel also provides a choice of dining experiences from our relaxed Metro Bar and brasserie to our 2 AA rosette award winning Heights rooftop restaurants. We also offer a range of banqueting or private dining options as well as 24 hour room service.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary use of the Yu Time, our Japanese inspired leisure facilities with Technogym and O-zone pool.

We also offer a range of conferencing and events within the hotel ranging from one-on-one meetings to a 250 people reception within our 6 conference. You can use the Gallery bar for drinks receptions or our Heights restaurant for a wedding day meal.

A contemporary styled 4-star hotel, the 171 en suite rooms offer 4 essential items for any traveler with space to sleep, relax, bathe or work.

The bedrooms come with either one queen-size double bed or within our twin rooms 2 queen-size double beds. All our rooms have limited edition artwork pictures on the walls as well as a wide screen TV and CD/DVD player as standard. There is a selection of DVDs to rent if you forget to bring your own. There is also tea/coffee making facilities, with ground coffee and selected teas, as well as an iron and ironing board in every room. Bathrooms are spacious with power showers and specially blended Apex toiletries.

For those who have to work, a purpose built and ergonomically designed desk and chair make sure that your are comfortable while you work.

The hotels restaurants can become very busy and it is always best for guests to book a table prior to arriving at the hotel.

Area information

The Grassmarket is part of the Old Town in Edinburgh and is situated on the south side of the castle. Within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Lothian Road, it is an ideal location for leisure and business guests alike.

Tourists information

From the Airport:
There are a number of options to arrive in Edinburgh from the Airport either by taxi, by Airport Link double decked bus to the city center or by Airport Shuttle bus which will stop at the hotel.

From Waverley Station:
Waverley station sits below Princes Street on the opposite side of the castle from the Grassmarket. It is a 10 minute walk to the hotel, however with the climb over a hill we would suggest catching a taxi from any of the taxi ranks within or around the station.

By Car:
- The simplest way to find the hotel is to head towards Princes Street, Edinburgh’s main shopping street. Once at the west end of Princes Street near House of Frasers Department store turn south into Lothian Road.
- Once on Lothian Road take the 1st left turn onto King Stable Road.
- Follow this road straight along and you will arrive in the Grassmarket, where the Apex International will be on the right hand side of the road.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 12 years stay free of charge for extra beds.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Continental breakfast is not included and costs GBP 9.50 per person.
Full English breakfast is not included and costs GBP 12.50 per person.

Parking: Private parking is possible on site (reservation is not possible) and costs GBP 8.00 per day.
