Mandy, Doug, and Daniel offer a warm welcome to their hotel that rests on the North Promenade, overlooking the Irish Sea.

We are a short 5 minute stroll from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, ideal for the shopping area and entertainment district, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquillity.

Blackpool is the perfect base for touring the North West area of England. Liverpool and Manchester are only an hour's drive away, Preston half an hour, the beautiful Lake District an hour and a half.

The Canasta Hotel offers tastefully furnished bedrooms. We are proud winners of the Blackpool Tourism Hotel of the Year in 2004 and came 2nd in 2005. Free tea and coffee is served all day to our guests from 09:00 to 21:00.

Hotel information

The Canasta has a licensed bar which is open from 11:00 to 23:30 on weekdays and until midnight at weekends. On busier weekends, if there is sufficient demand, there is karaoke on Friday nights from 21:00 to 00:00 (and occasionally on Saturdays).

Please note that from 01 July 2007 smoking is not allowed in any area of the hotel (including bedrooms).

Room information

All standard double rooms have shower and toilet (compact) and standard sized double beds. Each room has a trouser press, colour TV, central heating, tea/coffee facilities and a hairdryer. All standard rooms have windows which overlook the rear of the hotel.

Area information

The hotel is situated on the North Promenade which is the quieter area of town but near enough to walk to the North Pier, Tower, Coral Island, Winter Gardens and Sea Life Centre. The trams stop directly outside and will take you to the Pleasure Beach in 15 minutes.

Tourists information

From the M55 motorway:
- Continue for the Promenade (clearly signposted), past the Tower and North Pier (with the sea on your left).
- We are 3/4 of a mile north of North Pier. From North Pier you'll pass the Metropole Hotel on your left, the Revills, Royal York, Tiffanys (big pink one) and Claremont hotels on your right.
- You will then see the Best Western Carlton Hotel on the right. We are the white hotel next door on the far side.
- Pull into the car park and give us a wave to help you with your bags.

By Train:
A taxi ride from the train station takes a few minutes and costs 3 GBP.
Walking:
- As you leave the platform turn right and exit the train station via the smaller exit by the parcels office.
- This brings you onto Dickson Road. Turn right and walk about a mile until you come to the Carlton Hotel. We are next door to it.

By coach:
National Express Coach Services operate to and from Blackpool throughout the year.

From Lonsdale Road Coach Park (South Shore):
- Make your way to the promenade and catch a tram north.
- Exit the tram at the Claremont Hotel.
- Alternatively, a taxi should only cost about 5 GBP.

Talbot Road Bus Station is next to the train station. Follow directions above.

Blackpool Airport is about 6 miles away. A taxi will cost about 7 GBP.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
Extra beds are not available.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in public areas only and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate.
